American Jurisprudence, 2d (abbreviated Am. Jur. 2d) is a legal encyclopedia originally published by Lawyer's Cooperative Publishing Company, and is now published by Thomson Publishing. (Thomson also acquired West Publishing.) The encyclopedia provides commentary regarding almost all areas of law, then utilizes footnotes to lead the researcher to the main volume. The main volumes are then updated by pocket part. Am. Jur. 2d utilizes the Total Client Service Library research system.
